The finalized shell expansion drawing

The finalized shell expansion drawing is the final expansion drawing of the hull plating and structural members, presented as the delivery drawing of the shell expansion that has been prepared in the preceding process step. In MasterShip it is laid out on a paper-space tab and exported, using the MasterShip templates, as the finalized drawing to be delivered to the relevant parties.

Which SHIP-commands apply?

This deliverable is not made with a SHIP-command in itself, but uses the MasterShip templates for the paper-space. The workflow applies as follows:

  1. Right-click on one of the layout tabs (paper space) at the bottom-left of the AutoCAD session

  2. Select “From template…”, and select the templates in the company folder.

  3. You can now use this as a paper-space template.

  4. Once imported, use MVIEW in this paper space to make a view from the model space.

How can it be used?

As a final deliverable, the finalized shell expansion drawing is used for communication purposes: it is exported and delivered to a client, a subcontractor for review, or to a classification society, so that the finalized shell expansion can be reviewed and approved by the relevant parties.
