The purchase list is a report that lists the plates and staff (profiles) that are needed for the project, so that the right quantities of material can be ordered. In MasterShip it is presented in the MasterShip Organiser under the Reports menu, where you can find the Plate Purchase List and the Staff Purchase List. The preceding process step is making the nesting, together with the modeling of the parts and stiffeners.

In general, a purchase list turns the designed material into a clear list of what has to be bought: how many plates of which size, thickness and material, and how many staff material of which type and length. Because it comes from the model and the nesting, it reflects the actual needed quantities in the project. This makes it a practical deliverable for purchasing and planning the material.

Which SHIP-commands apply?

  • SHIPSYNCHRONIZEPROJECTFLODERS: use this command so make sure all data and quantities of stiffeners in the project is up-to-date. Before running the reports.
  • SHIPAUTOCUTORDER: generate the cutting order automatically when the nesting is done, to get the plate purchase list. Run this command when you finish the nesting to estimate the quantity of plates. From the nesting and the reports you can get both the plate purchase list and the stiffener purchase list.
  • Export the purchase lists: When you double click a report in the Organiser, you can view it in the Organiser. If you right-click on the viewing-window, then you get an option to export the report to Excel or CSV. Shown in the image below.

How can it be used?

  • As a basis for material ordering and cost control: The procurement list provides complete technical parameters for purchasing steel plates and stiffeners. Purchasing department can carry out inquiry, quotation comparison and contract signing based on the list.

  • Warehouse management and material issuing: Warehouse staff can use the procurement list as the basis for warehousing registration.
